A lot of people are having difficulty falling asleep. Whilst sleeping is a natural way for the body to rest and heal, the demands of the modern lifestyle have affected the natural sleep patterns of many.  When before, the body respond to the mere change of natural lighting from bright to dark, now even during the night we are exposed to bright lighting.  Even the noise that surrounds us affects our natural pattern of sleep. It also masks out any noise that can disturb a sound sleep. So, those people who complain that they have difficulty falling asleep are most likely exposed to too much light, noise and even warm bedroom.

Using cell phones, tablets and television in bed before sleep.

Laptops, PC and smartphone devices use blue light. This particular type of light suppresses melatonin production. Melatonin is a hormone that tells our body that it is time to sleep.

You are forcing yourself to sleep.

The more you force yourself to sleep, the more it will not happen. There are times when we are just so busy during the day that our adrenalin is still very much active even at night. And so our minds are so active and we are thinking of so many things. Stress, anxiety or depression can all contribute to this difficulty falling asleep pattern.

There are two most common sleep disorders: insomnia and sleep apnea.
