Know What Type of Face Scrub is Best For You

Know What Type of Face Scrub is Best For You

Have you ever looked at yourself in the mirror only to discover your face is as dry as a weed? The scales are like that of a snake and even if you cover up with makeup, your skin still doesn’t look smooth. Oh boy, you need some serious facial scrubbing. But where do you start? Well first, you need to know how to choose the right face scrub that will work for you.

I know doing that can be hard because I have been in that situation.  With so many choices in the market, I am often more confused than being enlightened on what to choose. This is why I have put these guidelines together, to help all those who suffer the same dilemma.

But first, let’s understand what a face scrub is?

According to Collins dictionary, the definition of face scrub is a beauty product or treatment, which cleanses and exfoliates the skin of the face. From this definition, we can clearly understand that the sole purpose of a facial scrub is to help the skin to slough off dead skin cells.

Why should I use a Face Scrub?

There are a lot of debates ongoing as to if facial scrubbing is effective or harmful. As I have benefited from using a face scrub, I will take the side of those who adhere to this skin care regimen. I think the reason facial scrubbing has gained popularity is that a lot of those who do it benefited from doing so. And I will say directly that by using a face scrub, I help my skin exfoliate to reveal a more radiant-looking surface that feels smooth and soft.  So I guess this is also the reason why those who use face scrubs do.

So what is the most important guideline when choosing the best face scrub …

The most important guideline is to know your Skin Type

We all know that when choosing any skin care product, it is imperative that you consider your skin type.  If you do not know what type of skin you have, it will be impossible to identify the right type of face scrub. So let me help you identify your skin type.

Normal Skin

If you have this skin type, you are lucky. Why? Because normal skin types rarely break out and do not have much of an issue with large visible pores. Although the pores may not be invisible, they are relatively unnoticeable.

Oily Skin

This type is usually likened to an orange peel. This is because the main characteristic is having pores that are big and open.  These pores are seen all over the face and not only concentrated on the nose.

Dry Skin

People who have this skin type don’t have visible pores, but these look a bit dull and somewhat chalky.  It can also become sensitive and patchy during winter when the air is lacking in moisture.

Combination Skin

This particular skin type, as the name suggests, is partly oily, which typically appears on the T-zone area and partly dry, this usually appears on the cheeks. It may be a bit tricky to manage this particular skin type because there is the need to address these two issues by using one product.

After knowing your skin type, what results do you want to achieve?

I think almost all those who use an exfoliating scrub have the same desired result. This is a bright complexion, with a smooth canvas for applying makeup, and skin that glows.  But even before we can achieve these, we need to choose the right kind of face scrub that suits our skin type.
