As a mother, whenever I see my son is inactive and not his usual self, my first impulse is to get his temperature and find out if it’s higher or lower than normal. So how do you use the Omron Forehead Thermometer?
To take forehead temperature, simply follow these steps:
- Turn on the unit and make sure that forehead icon appears on screen.
- Hold the unit and point the sensor about 1-3 cms away from the forehead.
- Press the START button.
- You can see the result flash on screen in as little as 1 second.
- If it’s nighttime and your child is fast asleep, simply press and hold silent mode for 3 seconds to turn off the buzzer, and ensure your child is not disturbed.
To get the temperature of an object, switch to surface mode.
- Press ON button and hold. Wait for the surface icon to appear on screen.
- Press START button.
- Hold the thermometer 1 cm from the object then press START button.
The room temperature mode remains on display even after the unit is turned off.
To turn off the unit, press and hold the ON/MEM button until the “OFF” sign appears.
