What are the different functions of hair spray?

  • Finishing hold - leaves hair with stronger hold to help it to stay all day.
  • For styling - is applied bit by bit as you style your hair.
  • To form curls - hair spray helps to shape the curls and keep them in place.
  • Tame unruly strands - spray a small amount on your hair to fix frizz and unruly hair.
  • To add volume - applying a little hair spray underneath the strands will lift them and give the appearance of volume.
  • To hide fringes that appear oily.

Tips for using hair spray

To prevent hair from sticking together, hold spray nozzle at least 30 centimeters away from your hair and spray in a constant motion.
Clean the spray nozzle from any stuck residue. This is to ensure even and smooth application.
To add volume to hair, shake your hair while holding your head upside down. Then slowly and gently throw your hair back again. Apply little spray underneath each strand. Let hair spray dry before moving to next batch of hair strands.
For individuals who have sensitive skin, apply hair spray at the tip of the hair instead of spraying on the roots.
For a lot of hold and bounce, spray liberally over hair then use whatever hair styling tool you prefer, whether heater rollers or curling iron or flat iron. Then after styling use more hair spray.
