What causes snoring?

Snoring is caused by friction in the throat by your tongue being sucked back into your throat, as you breath this creates the noise known as snoring.

What is Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (O.S.A)?

Snoring can progress into a condition known as Obstructive Sleep Apnoea, where the tongue is completely sucked against the back of the throat and blocks breathing. This can decrease blood flow and air flow to the brain which can result in a rush of adrenaline, being woken up by several large gasps to get fresh air and an increased heart rate. This can happen hundreds of time a night leaving the sleep without restorative sleep. OSA has been linked to an increased risk of: hypertension, higher blood pressure, strokes, cardiovascular disorders, depression, impotence, reflux/heartburn, obesity, diabetes and memory problems

What are the symptoms of snoring?

Hypertension, high blood pressure, poor concentration, Tiredness, Nocturnal Toilet Visits, Waking in the middle of the night, Sore Throats, headaches. Not to mention the social consequences are now being taken seriously: divorce, separate bedrooms, bed partners who end up sleep deprived!!!

What are the benefits of snoring?

Yes, it means you are aware of your sleeping problems, so you can do something about them. Snoring tells you your airways are not functioning properly as you sleep.  So now you can do something to help you health, and sleeping patterns!
