Solgar's Methylcobalamin Vitamin B12 nuggets are taken sublingually by-passing the digestive system and is absorbed directly into the bloodstream.
Methylcobalamin is a co-enzyme form of vitamin B12 which is biologically active. It is a form of B12 that is active in the central nervous system and is essential for cell growth and replication. Other forms of B12, such as cyanocobalamin, require conversion to methylcobalamin by the liver, and evidence suggests that some people may not make this conversion efficiently.
Vitamin B12 is found in foods of animal origin such as dairy products, eggs, meat and fish. Vegans, the elderly and people with digestive problems may be susceptible to low B12 status. It is estimated that 10% to 30% of individuals over the age of 50 have low stomach acid secretion which is linked to poor availability of B12.
Vitamin B12 is important for the central nervous system, healthy red blood cells and helps maintain normal blood homocysteine levels and is useful for energy enhancement.

Dosage
Take one nugget under the tongue daily.

Each nugget provides: Bulking Agent: mannitol. Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin) 1000 µg. Anti-caking Agents: vegetable stearic acid, silicon dioxide, vegetable magnesium stearate. Flavour: natural cherry. Cellulose Gum.
